Ok so, I have a big problem with the Rape of Innocence that is perpetrated in our society pretty much constantly. It's not even subtle anymore. I mean that could be a good thing because it is easier to watch out for... if you're looking. It seems to me that most are not.
I started thinking about how blatant it has become when I saw a preview for a movie called "Let Me In" one night when I couldn't sleep. (OK, several nights.) It is about a young girl who is a vampire doing anything for blood and a young boy who is her friend. They even use "She has the face of an angel..." to promote it.
My question? Who lets their child be even remotely attached to something like this? Yes, I know money, fame, blah blah blah... But really how sick. Why is there no law, no organization stepping in to protect children from this. It's not free speach. There are supposed to be things that cannot be said and done to minors. I mean people criticize parents for letting a child go to a funeral, or telling them about the horrors of life in other places in the world, but this is OK? So often children today are kept in a selfish little "protected" bubble from the reality of life and the world around us, but having them participate in horrible things or consume it for entertainment is ok?
I just think that it is bad enough that innocence is taken away from children because of life, and worse purposely done so by the adults meant to protect them, but now we have them actively participating in taking their own and other's? And using the innocent face of a child to promote it?
Yeah, that's "Super Classy!"
Yes... this is a huge problem! Well said!
